About the B.R.I.D.G.E Project
Question: What is the B.R.I.D.G.E Project, and what do you do?
Answer:
The B.R.I.D.G.E Project provides emergency financial assistance for housing, utilities, food, and medical needs, with a special focus on supporting single parents and immigrant households during critical times.
By helping families resolve immediate crises and achieve stability, we empower parents and set up the next generation to focus on growth and education rather than survival.
Question: Are you registered as a 501(c)(3)?
Answer:
The B.R.I.D.G.E Project is an officially recognized 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization registered in the state of Texas. Contributions to The B.R.I.D.G.E Project are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Our Employer Identification Number is 30-1492491. You can view our IRS determination letter directly on the IRS website.
Question: Where can I view your IRS Form 990 or financial reporting?
Answer:
As a newly launched non-profit organization, our first annual IRS Form 990 is not yet due. In accordance with federal transparency guidelines for 501(c)(3) organizations, our Form 990 will be made publicly available on this website as soon as it is officially completed and filed with the IRS following the close of our first tax year.
Question: Do you have any social media pages?
Answer:
Yes — as of right now we have a LinkedIn page, where we post frequent updates, resources, and milestones.
Getting Help
Question: Who does the B.R.I.D.G.E Project help?
Answer:
We support families facing an urgent financial crisis, with a special focus on single parents and immigrant households. Our goal is to bridge the gap between crisis and stability so parents can focus on their family's future rather than day-to-day survival.
Question: What kinds of emergencies do you help with?
Answer:
The emergency assistance application covers:
- Rent and eviction
- Utility shut-offs
- Food insecurity
- Medical expenses
- Childcare emergencies
If your situation doesn't fit those categories, choose “Other” on the form and explain what you're facing. We'd rather hear from you than have you assume you don't qualify.
Question: How do I request assistance?
Answer:
Fill out the Emergency Assistance Form. It asks for your contact information, household size, employment status, monthly income, and a description of your situation.
Be as specific as you can about deadlines — for example, the date on an eviction notice or a utility disconnection notice. That context helps us prioritize urgent cases.
Question: How do you decide who receives assistance if funds are limited?
Answer:
To ensure our assistance reaches those with the greatest need, priority is given to households with incomes falling below the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).
We evaluate every application individually based on crisis severity and available funding, but prioritizing lower-income families allows us to direct critical emergency aid to those facing the highest risk of hardship.
Question: What documents do I need?
Answer:
Proof of income is required. You can also attach supporting documents for your situation, such as a notice from your landlord or utility company, or simply describe them in the form instead.
Attachments must total under 4 MB. If your files are larger, email them to info@the-bridge-project.org after you submit the form.
Question: What if I can't answer every question on the form?
Answer:
Write “N/A” for anything you can't answer. An incomplete application is better than no application — we'll follow up if we need more information.
Question: How long will it take to hear back?
Answer:
Our typical response time is 24–48 hours. You'll receive an automatic confirmation email as soon as your application reaches us, and a member of our leadership team will follow up after reviewing it.
If the confirmation doesn't arrive, check your spam folder before resubmitting.
Question: What language support do you offer?
Answer:
The application form lets you tell us your preferred language — English, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, or another language you specify. We work with volunteer translators to communicate with families in the language they're most comfortable in.
Question: Do you offer help other than financial assistance?
Answer:
Yes. Our Community Resources page collects free resume templates, interview preparation and job training programs, food pantries and benefit applications, housing assistance, and local shelters — all available to you whether or not you apply for emergency assistance.
Donating
Question: How can I donate?
Answer:
Three ways, all listed in our donation section:
- Online through Zeffy — one-time or recurring.
- Zelle — send to info@the-bridge-project.org.
- Check — email us and we'll send mailing instructions.
Question: Is my donation tax-deductible?
Answer:
Yes. We are a recognized 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, and contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Our EIN is 30-1492491.
Question: Does 100% of my donation go to the B.R.I.D.G.E Project?
Answer:
Yes. We use Zeffy, a 100% free fundraising platform built for nonprofits that charges us no credit card processing or transaction fees.
When donating via Zeffy you may see an optional contribution prompt to help support their platform — you can adjust that contribution to $0 at checkout if you prefer. Donations made via Zelle also transfer 100% of funds directly to our account with zero fees.
Question: Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?
Answer:
- Zeffy: Yes — an official tax receipt is generated and emailed to you automatically as soon as your online payment is processed.
- Zelle: Zelle does not automatically issue official tax receipts. Please include your full name and email address in the Zelle transfer memo, or email us at info@the-bridge-project.org with your transaction confirmation, so we can issue a receipt.
Question: Can I give something other than money?
Answer:
Your time counts just as much. We need translators, resume reviewers, and community outreach volunteers — see Volunteer with B.R.I.D.G.E. For in-kind donations of goods, email info@the-bridge-project.org so we can confirm what we're able to accept and distribute.
Volunteering
Question: How can I volunteer or join your technical/engineering team?
Answer:
We are always looking for passionate community members and organizers to help us scale our impact. Submit a volunteer application on our volunteer page, or email us directly at info@the-bridge-project.org.
We currently welcome translators, resume reviewers, community outreach volunteers, and general volunteers. If you have a technical or engineering skill you think we could use, tell us — we'd like to hear from you.
Question: Can I volunteer remotely?
Answer:
Yes — volunteering can be done remotely. Translation and resume review in particular work well from anywhere.
Question: Can I use this for required volunteer hours?
Answer:
Our volunteer roles are suitable for people completing required service hours for school or another program. The volunteer form asks whether you're completing required hours — check “Yes” and let us know your program's requirements so we can confirm what we're able to support.
Privacy & Contact
Question: How do you protect my personal data?
Answer:
We treat your privacy with care. We never sell, trade, or rent donor contact details to third parties.
Financial transactions are securely handled through PCI-compliant external payment processors (Zeffy and the bank-level encrypted Zelle platform). We do not store raw credit card numbers or banking passwords on our website servers.
For detailed information, please see our Privacy Policy.
Question: Is my assistance application kept confidential?
Answer:
Yes. Information you submit stays confidential between you and B.R.I.D.G.E Project leadership. Access is restricted to authorized staff and vetted volunteers who need it to do their job, and everyone with access is bound by confidentiality obligations.
Question: How do I update or delete my information, or stop receiving emails?
Answer:
Email info@the-bridge-project.org and tell us what you'd like changed, removed, or unsubscribed. See Your Choices & Opt-Out in our Privacy Policy.
Question: How do I get in touch?
